Hopefully, we won’t see you again for a lifetime
It’s not that we don’t love or appreciate you, as we very much do. It’s just that for greater sustainability, we all need to buy less and demand more of the products we use. Our floors are crafted to endure – from the moment they’re installed into your home, throughout a lifetime of life. With most of them bearing some of the world’s most famous ecolabelling certifications (the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel). Durable products undeniably curb environmental waste, but how these products are manufactured is also important. This is why the core of your laminate floor is made from recovered wood, for example. And why we recycle and minimise production waste. All so you can rest assured you’re making a good choice when buying a Pergo floor. Knowing that you won’t have to buy a new one for a very, very long time.

You’ll be stuck with them for life
You see, we build our floors to last. With the intention to spare you from the need to buy a new floor anytime soon. That would be bad all around, both for you and the kids inheriting our planet. This is also why we offer a lifetime warranty and continuously work to make our floors even more durable. While others keep hoping you’ll come back for more of the same, we don’t. Instead, we focus on innovation to sustain your Pergo floors for longer, as we have been doing since we invented laminate flooring. Like StayClean+, which protects against water spills and stains, or TitanX™ – our patented scratch-resistant technology. So, when choosing a Pergo floor, chances are you’ll be stuck with us for a long time.
Sustainable design, is that a thing?
Yes, it is. Our Scandinavian heritage is obvious in various ways, not least in our design philosophy. Minimalistic, functional design that goes beyond trends and short-lived fads. Gifting your home timeless, long-lasting and sustainable beauty. Design that stays relevant. In other words, a smart choice for the long term.
Repair don’t despair
Even though Pergo floors are synonymous with quality and durability, real life happens. The party that doesn’t go as planned. Kids being kids, stiletto-wearing dancers at a dinner party gone rough, or simply just dropping a kitchen knife on the floor. We’re here to tell you there’s no need to panic! Not even a little bit. You don’t have to buy a new floor. With Pergo Repair Wax you can quickly and easily repair damaged laminate and wooden planks. There is also an option to replace a damaged plank.
This is what a Swan looks like
Well, first of all they are the most majestic bird ever. Secondly, we’ve had a beautiful partnership with the prestigious Nordic Swan Ecolabel for a very long time. A continuous and evolving love story, you might say, as we were the very first company in the world to receive a Nordic Swan certification label for a floor – all the way back in 1995! This means you can be at ease with your choice, knowing one of the most sought-after ecolabelling schemes in the world has given us their stamp of approval. We also have other dear friends, like the EU Ecolabel. Which we were the first manufacturer to receive for a laminate floor in 2016. Today, all our laminates proudly bear it. Or the Cradle to Cradle Certified Material Health Certificate™ scheme, which also gave us their renowned certification for our Lillehammer range in 2023. We love them equally for that.
Our industry might be terribly tired of us
If there’s one thing we do poorly, it’s sitting quietly accepting the status quo. So, we strive to influence our industry to improve, to refrain from taking shortcuts, overpromising and underdelivering, and to consider tomorrow today. Therefore, we team up with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, participate in political debates and seminars, and talk to anybody that wants to listen (and even a few who don’t) about the importance of third-party certifications to guide consumers in making sustainable choices.

We put waste in your floors
We really, really dislike wasting resources, which is why the HDF (High Density Fibreboard) in your breathtakingly beautiful Pergo laminate and wooden floors are made from 100% recovered wood. A waste product we get from sawmills, roadside maintenance, and similar sources. What would otherwise just be thrown away or incinerated. Which we find kind of … not good. So, we use it, and you’re walking on it.
Going in circles is our way forward
When it comes to resources, that is. Circularity is brilliant and paves the way to sustainability. So, we recycle internal vinyl waste back into the production line, 99% of it actually. And now we are taking a significant leap forward by investing in a new production line with the capability to recycle old vinyl floors. Also, we are more than super excited to have our first cradle to cradle certification: the Bronze Cradle 2 Cradle Certified Material Health Certificate™ for our laminate floor, Lillehammer. A standard under which products and materials are viewed as resources that can circulate in a perpetual loop. In addition, we're actively working towards incorporating 25% recycled waste into our HDFs by 2030. This is made possible through an innovative breakthrough developed by our parent company, UNILIN – allowing us to recycle used HDFs.
Waste is powerful
Maybe it’s that Scandinavian gene in our DNA that makes us want to cry a river every time things go to waste. We’re therefore very happy that our parent company, UNILIN, has biomass facilities – two of them. Here, everything that we can’t recycle in other ways, like wood dust and non-recyclable wood waste, is converted into green energy, which in turn powers certain aspects of our manufacturing processes.
The best number is 0
Zip, zero, nothing – that’s what the UNILIN Group is committed to achieving in terms of net emissions by 2050, under the EU Green Deal. A tough, rigorously scientific, third-party target we’re excited and eager to reach. By 2030, we want to reduce our own greenhouse gas emissions by 42%, and the emissions of our suppliers up- & downstream by 12%. These goals were verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). SBTi independently assesses and validates companies’ climate targets. Our set and verified climate targets for 2030 put us firmly on the path to help limit global warming to 1.5°C, as outlined by the Paris Agreement. So you can rest at ease knowing your Pergo floors have been firmly scrutinised for their environmental impact. As they should be.
