Fit QuickHeat for barefoot bliss
With our QuickHeat electric underfloor heating system you can say goodbye to time-consuming and costly professional installations. Easy to fit yourself, it’s the efficient and comfortable way to heat your home, and works perfectly with both laminate and engineered-wood floors. QuickHeat is the ideal complement to radiators, and means that you can turn the thermostat on your primary heating system down by a few degrees – saving money and energy.
The basics: what is underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating offers comfortable warmth underfoot, evenly warming your home with gentle, consistent heat that rises from a system installed below your floor. It’s an excellent solution for any home, allowing you to enjoy a chic design upgrade by eliminating the need for bulky radiators, thus creating a more aesthetically pleasing and spacious environment.
Heat where you want it, when you want it
For underfloor heating to work its best, choose a floor type with low thermal resistance. Why? Because your floor will be quicker to heat up, and your underfloor heating will be more efficient. It’s also vital to put an insulating layer underneath your underfloor heating. This stops heat from disappearing underground and being wasted. Instead it will flow to where you need it – up through your floor and into your room.
Just call them heroes: all our floors can be used with underfloor heating
Our floors are renowned for their Scandinavian design and functionality, and every single one can be installed with a low temperature underfloor heating. What does ‘low temperature’ mean? It’s when the surface temperature of the finished floor reaches a maximum of 27°C. In practice, most floors are cooler than this anyway, especially if your home is new, renovated or well insulated.
You can install Pergo flooring with either an electric or a water-based (‘wet’) underfloor heating system. If you’re opting for electric, our QuickHeat system is the perfect DIY solution for laminate and engineered-wood floors.
- Electric
- Uses electric heating cables or mats laid just underneath the floor
- Often used for small areas or as an extra heat source in individual rooms
- Pergo’s QuickHeat system is easy to install yourself, budget-friendly and efficient
- Water-based
- Uses water pipes or tubes fitted below the floor
- The water is heated by a central boiler or heat pump and circulated through the pipes
- Very energy-efficient and often used for heating the whole house
When installing our Pergo floors in combination with underfloor heating, we strongly advise you to consult our general guidelines. The use of the correct Pergo accessories is also essential. The use of unappropriated accessories (eg. underlays) can be harmful to your floor.
