What is a floating floor?

A floating floor is defined as a floor which is glued or clicked together with a dilatation gap along the walls. In practice a floating floor means has a margin of error along the walls to allow it to move. The margin of error is required in order for the floor to move a few millimetres when exposed to daily use or changes in temperature and humidity.

All floors available from Pergo are floating floors. Our range of flooring includes a plethora of modern vinyl floors, laminate floors and wooden floors based on different types of tiles or boards. Whether you are after a floating vinyl, laminate or wooden floor, they are all easy to install on your own, using the PerfectFold™ 3.0 method.
